Stunning Junk Decor

I love the post over at Pretty Organized Palace on stunning junk decor!

She has great ideas like using trim painted the same color as the frame
and backing it with colorful scrapbook paper.

Or lining a drawer with galvenized steel
and covering it in fabric to make a message board... brilliant!

These wouldn't be expensive to make but really make a statement!

Itty Bitty rubber stamps

I've been pulling out my rubber stamps this week. I bought some blank notecards and I just can't leave them plain-- they're too boring. But my assortment of stamps on hand is rather sorry. I really want to find something new. So I was thrilled to find that Barbara from Bits of Ivory had posted instructions on how to make my own tiny rubber stamp from a pencil eraser!

These are so adorable! I don't know if I'll be any good at it,
but I'll definitely give it a try!
And while you're there check out her Bramble and Vine shop and her Bits of Ivory store, she has some amazing artwork, and lots of other unique items too.

*Don't forget to enter the contest over at Chocolate Fingerprints, today is the last day to enter!

Memo Boards

I love memo boards! I have one in my kitchen, and one in my office, and I think I need a few more. I love having pictures of my family on them, and they can be a beautiful piece of art.

So, as you can imagine, I was thrilled to find a tutorial on how to make my own over at Design Dazzle. One of these days I will try it!

Aren't they pretty?!

Happy Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day!

Just a few fun ways to celebrate Earth Day...

I loved the idea to make an upcycled quilt over at Sweet Life in the Valley.
Didn't this one turn out gorgoeous?!

Check out these reusable shopping bags from Bags by G:
What a great way to start helping Mother Earth by reducing all of those plastic grocery bags!

Or make your own:

Fonts

Some fonts are too large for certain listings in my shop,
if you're not sure if your desired font will work feel free to contact me.

Available Fonts

1. The first set is the standard uppercase type font.

This is the best choice if you need a lot of letters on your jewelry. This set will fit on any listing in my shop. This set includes numbers, and an "&" sign.

2. The second set is the script font and is available only in lower case.

This script font should fit on any design featured in my shop, it won't fit quite as many letters as the typewriter font, but will come close.

3. The third set is our new Dancer font. This font will fit on all of the designs in the shop, but won't fit as many letters as the standard uppercase type font. It is available in lowercase letters only right now.

4. The fourth set is our lowercase/uppercase Playful font. We now have numbers available in this font too! Please be sure to specify whether you'd like both upper and lowercase, or just upper or lower on this font!

This set works on any of the designs in the shop, but also won't fit as many letters as the standard uppercase type font. It is now available in both uppercase and lowercase, and numbers too.

5. The fifth set is our Standard lowercase typewriter font.

This set is available in lowercase only. The letters are more even looking, and are smaller than on our other (whimsical) lowercase typewriter font. This font should fit on most of the designs in the shop, though it won't fit as many letters as the standard uppercase type font.

6. The sixth set is the gothic font, and is only available in lower case.

This set should work for most of the styles listed in my shop, including the family circle necklaces. It is slightly larger than the typewriter font so it may not be the best choice if you need lots of letters on your jewelry.

7. The seventh set is our Whimsical lowercase typewriter font.

The letters on this font aren't all exactly the same size, so it will give you a more eclectic and less perfect look. If you like your letters lined up perfectly straight then this is not the font for you-- the way the stamps are made makes it impossible for me to line them up perfectly.
This set is also just a bit larger so it isn't great for lots of letters and it won't work on every necklace, email me if you're wondering if it will work for you.

8. This eighth set is called the "fancy font" in my shop, but the technical name is kismet.

This kismet set is lowercase letters.

The font is a bit larger than I was expecting, and it will only work on a limited number of necklaces:
the initial necklaces, the large family circle necklace, family ties necklace, it's a boy/girl necklace, the Je T'aime necklace, the Shine Brightly necklace, Wish upon a star, Blessed beyond measure, the Lucky necklace, and the Hugs and Kisses.

9. The ninth set is our cursive font.

This set is available only in lowercase letters. The font is a bit larger, and it will only work on a limited number of necklaces:
the initial necklaces, the large family circle necklace, family ties necklace, silver petite name, copper petite name, it's a boy/girl necklace, the Je T'aime necklace, the Shine Brightly necklace, Wish upon a star, Blessed beyond measure, the Lucky necklace, and the Hugs and Kisses.

10. The tenth set is the large type font.

This will only fit on a few designs. This set is typically used for the Shine Brightly necklace, It's a Boy/Girl, and the Copper Keyring. This set includes numbers, and an "&" sign.

11. Our eleventh set is our new Urban font, my new favorite! This set fits on most of our designs, but is too large for the smaller Family Circle listings. And if you need lots of lettering this font may not work. But it is super cute!

**Numbers are available in the type fonts and the Playful font. However, it looks just fine to mix the available numbers with the other fonts.

Available Design Stamps

These are the design stamps that I currently have in stock:

1 Small Stylized Heart
2 Mother & Child Heart
3 Double Heart
4 Standard Heart
5 Asterisk (available in 2 sizes)
6 Branch (this does not work well on silver, but will stamp on copper just fine)
7 Wave with dots
8 Fleur de Lis
9 Star (available in 2 sizes)
10 Plus sign
11 Bird
12 Flower

Design stamps won't work on some of our thinner and smaller listings.
