Flickr Friday: Vancouver Olympics

Are you all familiar with Flickr?
I love their tagline, "Share your photos, watch the world."
People from all over the world upload photos on flickr, for everyone to see.
And there are some amazing photos!

Are you all enjoying the winter olympics?
We have been watching quite a lot of different events,
my kids are especially loving it.
Did you know that you can experience part of the olympics
on flickr?
There are lots of different photos posted already!

This particular photo is of the Vancouver Olympic Village.

PS Thanks for your patience in delays in my replies to questions. I just found out this week that I have gestational diabetes and I've spent much of the week meeting with doctors and dieticians to figure out how to manage it and what I need to do to modify my diet. So far it looks like I should be able to manage it with diet alone, which is great news! Any tips on meals or snacks that are diabetic friendly?

hi there! I'm a long time reader and lover of your necklaces (monkeytreecreations).
I had GD while I was pregnant, and while it's a scary diagnosis up front, I found it to be pretty manageable. Exercise is just as critical as good diet, so be sure to take plenty of walks. My dogs were never happier than in my last trimester. : )
Also, I found that a good breakfast helped to stabilize my sugars early in the day. Target online has an egg muffin toaster that will poach or hardboil an egg and cook your toast in less than 5 minutes and cleanup is as easy as popping the egg tray in the wash. I ate an egg and a single piece of low carb sprouted wheat toast for breakfast every morning until my last month.
If you would like to email me, abi at monkeytreecreations dot com, I'm happy to chat further about it! I had a GD "mentor" and I'd love to return the favor to someone else. Good luck and best wishes! Abi
